Hi guys, welcome back to Canna~Wise’s Alternative Medicine Blog! It has been a few months since we have posted due to some changes in our office, but we are back!
There are 113 known cannabinoids in cannabis. The main cannabinoid types are Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), Cannabidiol (CBD), Cannabinol (CBN), Cannabigerol (CBG) and Cannabichromene (CBC). Today we are going talk about CBD! CBD is a type of cannabinoid that is naturally found in cannabis. One of the big differences between CBD and THC is that you don’t feel the psychoactive feeling “high or euphoric” but you do feel the more non psychoactive “relaxing” feeling. CBD is used for stressed and anxiety as well as insomnia, pain, and inflammation all like THC.
There are multiple ways to take CBD
- Oils and tinctures
- Creams and lotions
- Capsules and pills
- Edibles
- Vaping
Just like THC, CBD affects everyone differently so when you start CBD you want to start off with a small dose to see how your body will react to it and then increase slowly. Any questions can be discussed with your doctor!
Another bonus perk about CBD is that you can use it with pets. It can help with their skin problems as well as anxiety issues! Having a new puppy at home who has separation anxiety anytime I leave, we give her a CBD gummy to relax, and she calms right down. Being a full-time nursing student, with two little kids at home has been very challenging. While in school, constantly being drug tested for various clinical sites has also been very difficult. However, using CBD has been a life savior for me. I have severe anxiety so being able to manage my stress levels, and not get in trouble for having THC in my system has been great. It also works out that you don’t get the “high” feeling because it would be very hard to pay attention to my studies. Thanks for taking time to read our blog! Stay tune for our next blog in March! We will be discussing about all the different Terpenes there are!
